The A.A. Miracle and Me
I came to Valley Hope in 1980, when my doctor had me on 4 different addictive prescription medications. I was 30 years old. I left, sober, but didn't stay sober at all. One of my best friends at valley hope was a policeman. When he left with his 30 days, he drover his motorcycle off a cliff and died. When I left, I tried to kill myself, and, duh, it didn't work. But I thought I was too young to really have a drinking problem.
Well in 1993, I returned to Valley Hope, ready to learn about myself, things I wasn't interested in in 1980.
I have been sober since September 17, 1993. I have lots of friends, lots of women friends, as you had me in women's meetings. I have a strong relationship with my Higher Power, who is choose to call God. I don't write hot checks any more. I sponsor two wonderful women. I am married to a fellow AA for 12 years and have 5 wonderful children. Well they are adults now. My son, and my husband's 4 kids, 2 girls, 2 boys. In July of this year, the youngest of my husband's sons, died, in Texas, he was 30 years old.
There is nothing that God can't get you through. Just sit back, meditate, pray, and God will hold your hand.
Thanks Valley Hope. I love you all!
