This week, an estimated 2,000 Americans will tragically die an early death due to alcoholism and drug addiction. Families are torn apart and everyone suffers.

The illness of addiction is progressive and fatal if not treated. Only one in four people who need treatment in our country actually receive it.

We know that professional treatment works! We can only guess how many lives would be saved if more people could access or afford professional alcohol and drug addiction treatment.

In many instances addiction is viewed differently than other chronic diseases with high potential for relapse. Medical insurance often will not be an option for an individual seeking treatment at a residential facility. In addition, should a person attempt to use their benefit at a facility other than a hospital, their benefits are limited and they feel the need to leave treatment early.

More and More People are Seeking Help for their problems with alcohol and drugs and as a result, more people need financial assistance to help with the cost of treatment. Each year, our endowment generates interest for scholarships, but the need is great. Thank you for helping us help others!
